Based in Toronto, the Canadian Opera Company is the largest producer of opera in Canada and one of the largest in North America. The company enjoys an international reputation for artistic excellence and creative innovation.
Our mission is to produce quality professional opera that will contribute to the cultural, economic and educational quality of our unique multi-city community. Opera Hamilton will be respected as a dynamic, innovative and progressive opera company, renowned for its commitment to audiences and artists.
We’re a collective of Toronto artists – actors, opera singers, musicians, painters, writers, dancers, and arts professionals – with a thing for performing in unique spaces. We want to take the classics and turn them sideways – that is, present them… differently. Cozily. Sometimes with beer and popcorn.
Tafelmusik was founded in 1979 and is Canada’s award-winning period instrument orchestra, renowned in North America and internationally for its distinct, exhilarating and soulful performances. The Tafelmusik Chamber Choir was formed later in 1981, to complement the orchestra, specializing in baroque performance practice and vocal technique. Together they form the heart of Tafelmusik, a group of remarkably talented, enthusiastic and dynamic musicians.
The Toronto Consort consists of musicians who excel equally as singers and performers on a wide variety of instruments. Since its founding in 1972, it has become internationally recognized for its excellence in the performance of medieval, renaissance and early baroque music.
The Elora Festival and Singers are not only a professional choir of international regard, but also present a summer festival of classical and contemporary music, with an emphasis on choral works featuring Canadian artists in the unique setting of the Village of Elora.
